I’ve been doing some reviews and pictures for Twin Cities Media lately, including Pearl & the Oysters and Dave Matthews Band tomorrow night in Shakopee.
Last night I got to shoot and review Pond’s set at Fine Line, a day after catching Tame Impala at Target Center.
That was a mind-blowing arena show, and the ties between Tame Impala, which is one of the most successful psychedelic rock bands in the world right now, and Pond are strong. Both bands are from Perth, Australia.
Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker used to play drums for Pond.
Pond frontman Nick Allbrook is a former touring member of Tame Impala.
Jay Watson is still a touring member of both bands. And while Tame Impala plays fewer shows in large arenas, Pond has scheduled its more extensive tour of smaller music clubs around them.
