A lucky few got to see and hear legendary organist John Medeski’s latest visit to the Twin Cities — to a private backyard near St. Paul’s Como Park — Sept. 15.
It’s all thanks to St. Paul native Todd Clouser, the impressive guitarist now based in Mexico. Read more about his connection to Medeski here.
Previous shows have been played at Icehouse and at Harmony Park and involved drummer JT Bates (except for that time Greg Schutte filled in). This time Bates was on tour with Bonny Light Horseman, so Clouser brought his A Love Electric bandmate Jorge Servin to play drums. He also tapped his long-time friend Mark Joseph of The Big Wu to sit in on guitar.
Joseph infused some dirty blues into this jazz.
