There’s some major talent rolling through the state on top of the normally busy week of local music.
Legendary Hammond organist Booker T. plays a couple of shows at Minneapolis’ Parkway Theater Wednesday and Thursday; Gary Clark, Jr., hits Saint Paul’s Fitzgerald Theater Saturday; Legacy metal acts Iron Maiden and Megadeth hit Mystic Lake Amphitheater Saturday; and Minneapolis’ own Cory Wong and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe play the MODE photography festival in Minneapolis Sunday.
Locally, TWINE plays its weekly Bunkers residency at Bunkers tonight (Wednesday).
Greater Goods, along with Harmony Arcade and Heliocene, play Day Block in Minneapolis Thursday.
WE Collective will have members of Feed the Dog this week at Gluek’s in Minneapolis Thursday.
Ian Alexy plays Sir Ben’s in Duluth Saturday.
On Sunday, The Brothers Burn Mountain play North Shore Winery in Lutsen Sunday, Shotgun Ragtime Band plays consecutive Sunday No. 796 at the Driftwood and Dr. Mambo’s Combo continues one of the longest residencies in the country at Bunkers in Minneapolis.

Wednesday, Sept. 16
Booker T. Presents: A Stax Revue and Journey Through Soul, Blues and R&B runs two nights at Minneapolis The Parkway Theater, starting Wednesday. Doors are at 6:30 p.m., and show at 7:30 p.m. It’s all ages.
Minneapolis jamband TWINE returns to Bunkers every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. We call it TWINEsday, and it goes to about 1 a.m.

Thursday, Sept. 17
Booker T. plays a second night at Parkway with doors at 6:30 p.m. and show at 7:30 p.m. It’s all ages.
Day Block Brewing hosts a trio of bands including Greater Goods, Harmony Arcade and Heliocene with music 7 to 10 p.m.
WE Collective brings members of Feed the Dog to Gluek’s in downtown Minneapolis, starting around 10 p.m.
Jaybee and The Routine continue their longtime Bunkers residency at 9:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 18
Have the most deece time ever when Wisconsin’s Gregg Hall & the Wrecking Ball plays Day Block Brewing in downtown Minneapolis. Annie Frazier Band opens with doors at 6 p.m. and music at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 19
Gary Clark Jr. plays The Fitzgerald Theater, Saint Paul for a 7:30 p.m. show. It’s 18 and over.
Iron Maiden with Megadeth at Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee with doors at 6 p.m., and show at 7:15 p.m. These bands might not be very psychedelic, but I was a big fan of both as a teenager in the late 80s.
Ian Alexy plays Sir Benedict’s Tavern in Duluth from 9 to 11 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 20
MODE Festival, the photography fest, brings BALTHVS to Loring Park at 4 p.m., and then headliner Cory Wong along with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe in support starting at 5 p.m.
The Brothers Burn Mountain @ North Shore Winery, Lutsen. Music 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.; More info here.
