It’s a big week for psychedelic music coming to town on top of local performers in Minnesota.
LCD Soundsystem, Dizgo and Hot Like Mars, Squeaky Feet, Umphrey’s McGee and The Devon Allman Project all tour through Minnesota this week.
Long-time Minneapolis jammers Mango Jam hit Icehouse Thursday.
On Saturday, Confucisaurus, TH3 and Heatbox share a bill at Amsterdam in Saint Paul, Fortunate Suns with Lazy River Road and SOOP Lightshow at Day Block, Ross Thorn at Rugged Spruce in Mahtowa, and Mike Munson is at Prairie Island Campground in Winona.
Phish tribute About to Run is at Icehouse Sunday.
Plus the residency shows including the International Reggae All Stars at Bunkers, the Old Town Tuesday Night Jam at Whitey’s Old Town Saloon, TWINE at Bunkers, the Cherry Pit Open Jam at Berlin, WE Collective with members of Feed the Dog at Gluek’s, Jaybee & the Routine at Bunkers, Shotgun Ragtime Band at the Driftwood and Dr. Mambo’s Combo at Bunkers.
Tuesday, Aug. 18
LCD Soundsystem play an all ages show with Victoryland at Armory, Minneapolis. Doors 6 p.m., show 7:30 p.m.
International Reggae All Stars play their Bunkers residency show at 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Hot Like Mars opens for Dizgo at The Hook and Ladder Wednesday.
Wednesday, Aug. 19
Indiana’s Dizgo with Chicago’s Hot Like Mars hit The Hook & Ladder Theater in South Minneapolis with doors a 7 p.m. and show at 7:30 p.m.
TWINE plays its Bunkers residency show from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Cherry Pit Open Jam is at Berlin in North Loop from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
TWINE has been keeping the Wednesday night jam tradition going strong at Bunkers for coming up on two years this November.
Thursday, Aug. 20
Denver’s Squeaky Feet hits 7th Street Entry, with doors at 7 p.m., and show at 8 p.m. It’s 18 and over.
Mango Jam is at Icehouse with doors at 6 and show at 7 p.m.
Jaybee & the Routine resumes its Bunkers residency at 9:30 p.m.
WE Collective has members of Feed the Dog in the lineup this week at Gluek’s downtown starting at 10 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 22
Fortunate Suns and Lazy River Road share a bill with liquid light artist SOOP Lightshow at Day Block Brewing from 7 to 10 p.m.
Confucisaurus, TH3 and Heatbox share a bill at Amsterdam Bar in Saint Paul with doors at 6 p.m. and show at 7 p.m.
Duluth’s Ross Thorn plays Rugged Spruce Golf Club in Mahtowa. Music at 7 p.m.
Mike Munson and “?” Perform at the Prairie Island Campground — the site of Boats & Bluegrass — in Winona with music from 6 to 9 p.m.
Confucisaurus shares a bill with Heatbox and TH3 at Amsterdam Bar in Saint Paul Saturday.
Sunday, Aug. 23
Umphrey’s McGee plays its rescheduled First Avenue 18-and-over show, with doors at 7 p.m., and music at 8 p.m.
The Devon Allman Project with GA-20 hit the Dakota, with doors at 5:30 p.m. and show at 7 p.m.
Phish tribute About to Run has an early patio show at Icehouse with doors at 4 p.m. and show at 5 p.m.
Shotgun Ragtime Band plays consecutive Sunday No. 792 at the Driftwood in South Minneapolis, with Phine & Friends kicking things off at 6:30 p.m.
Last but not least is Dr. Mambo’s Combo and what I believe to be the longest standing residency in the state — since 1987 — at Bunkers, starting at 9:30 p.m.
