LaMP, the psychedelic instrumental trio featuring three veterans of the jam scene, stopped in Minneapolis Wednesday, March 18.
The band, featuring guitarist Scott Metzger of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, and drummer Russ Lawton and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski of Trey Anastasio Band, packed the house and reached improvisational heights throughout their two-plus hour show, which included a short set break.
Paczkowski thanked the Minnesota crowd for doing what it did, referencing the recent resistance the city put up against the illegal federal occupation of the state by Immigration Customs Enforcement. Icehouse is less than a block away from where federal agents executed ICU nurse Alex Pretti on Nicollet Avenue on Jan. 24.
But it was all positive vibes inside Icehouse for LaMP’s first performance in Minnesota.
Metzger did an interview with Jam in the Stream, which can be read here.
