MN WEEKLY ROUNDUP: Local Music Never Stops on 4th of July Week

June 29, 2026

So, despite a light week of national touring acts through Minnesota — particularly among psychedelic artists — there are plenty of local options, along with Anders Osborne hitting Dakota tonight.

Monday, June 29

New Orleans-based roots and blues rocker Anders Osborne performs at Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. Doors are at 5:30 p.m., with one show at 7 p.m.

L.A. Buckner’s weekly residency, L.A.’s Monday Nights at Icehouse on Eat Street in Minneapolis from 8 to 11 p.m.

Only Every Monday on The Cabooze patio in Minneapolis. Lineup hasn’t been announced, but music starts at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, June 30

Sawtooth Witch and M.A.Y. at 331 Club in Northeast Minneapolis. Music 9:30 p.m.

International Reggae All Stars’ weekly residency at Bunkers from 9:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Old Town Tuesday Night Jam at Whitey’s Old Town Saloon in Northeast Minneapolis from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Wednesday, July 1

TWINE’s weekly residency at Bunkers at 9:30 p.m.
The Cherry Pit Open Jam at Berlin in North Loop runs from 10 p.m to 12:30 a.m.

Thursday, July 2

Mexico City’s Sonido Gallo Negro fuses cumbia into psychedelic rock. They play Cedar Cultural Center, with doors at 7 p.m., and show at 7:30 p.m. It’s all ages.

Friday, July 3

Terrapin Stallion — which is what Dream of the Wild calls itself when covering mostly Ween and Grateful Dead songs — plays 7th Street Entry with 7 p.m. doors and a 8 p.m. show.

Liquid light artist SOOP will be there, and the show also involved the University of Minnesota Psychedelic Education Club and Minnesota Church of Spinners.

Alex Rossi returns to Bunkers from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Grateful Gals play Utepils Brewing’s Artepils festival from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 4

Davina & The Vagabonds play Dakota with 5:30 p.m. doors and a 7 p.m. show.

56 Brewing’s Nershfest features Reptar, Mae Simpson, People Brothers Band, and China Rider among others in Northeast Minneapolis. The music starts at 1 p.m.

Sunday, July 5

Shotgun Ragtime Band keeps it going every week from 6:30 p.m. on at Driftwood in South Minneapolis.

You never know who is going to show up at Bunkers, especially on a Sunday night with Dr. Mambo’s Combo. This past Sunday, musicians associated with Usher and late soul legend D’Angelo showed up as guests of Sonny T.

The music starts at 9:30 p.m. and ends at 1 a.m.
